We work together. You may be experiencing negative feelings or numbness. You want to be able to feel more joy and happiness. Perhaps have more energy for life. Grieving past losses and difficult experiences can help with this, as well as understanding your patterns and making any changes you choose to make.

Integrative counselling uses a range of therapeutic modalities to best support the client. My practice includes CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Gestalt, Person-Centred and Transactional Analysis.

I have training and experience of working with people who have experienced trauma, so I prioritise their need to feel safe, offer consistency and reliability, and prevent them from feeling retriggered. We talk through the basic trauma responses of fight, flight, freeze and fawn which are active in a traumatised client. We look at coping strategies for fear and anxiety. We move the focus from ‘What’s wrong with you?’ to ‘What happened to you?’

I have been a counsellor since graduating in Integrative Therapy in 2010, having studied a 2-year course at Wealden Institute. Since then I have undertaken additional studies including a Masters. I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists).

Yes. I often provide reading and podcast recommendations tailored to your particular needs as this can help bridge the gap between sessions.

It is recommended that you come weekly at the same time to the same room as part of the therapeutic healing. Please give as much notice as possible if you cannot make a session and I will do the same.

Each session lasts 50 minutes. The time boundary is also an important part of the therapeutic process.

While it is important for you to arrive on time, you do not need to come early. However, I can let you in up to 10 minutes before the session and there is seating for you to wait outside my room.

Ideally arrive more or less on time. Press the buzzer and I will let you in. If you are early there are seats outside my therapy room to wait on.

There is a flat fee of £50 for the assessment session. Thereafter for all sessions the fee is £65

I provide you with a glass of water.
There is a WC for clients in the first floor.

We all would like a quick fix. Having the support of someone to talk to who listens and understands can have a positive effect quite quickly. Deeper changes take time.

It is possible to sign up for a block of 6 sessions with a specific goal. We will the review at the end of that time.

I currently work with sensory impaired, neurodivergent young people with disabilities. My practice is inclusive of ethnically diverse/Global Majority clients
and is LGBTQIA+ affirmative.

Individual counselling generally mean you attend alone. However, if your additional needs mean you require the support of someone to get yourself to the session, contact me and we will discuss how to support you.
